Welcome to Côte New Zealand ("Côte"). By using our website and services, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making any bookings or inquiries.
1. General Information
Côte New Zealand is a catering company trading under Shallot Hospitality Ltd. All services provided are subject to availability and the terms outlined herein. For specific contractual obligations, refer to individual agreements.
2. Booking and Payments
Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the estimated cost (plus GST) is required to secure your booking. This deposit will be deducted from the final payment unless otherwise arranged.
For weddings and events, full payment of the remaining balance is due five (5) working days prior to the event date.
Payment Methods
Payments can be made via direct credit (internet banking) or credit card.
Payments by Visa or Mastercard incur a 2.5% surcharge. AMEX is not accepted.
3. Final Guest Count
Final guest numbers must be confirmed no later than five (5) working days prior to the event date.
Changes to guest numbers after this period may result in additional charges.
4. Event Changes and Cancellations
Changes
Requests for changes to the event date or venue can be made up to 14 working days before the event, subject to availability and additional charges.
Cancellations
The 10% deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations made within 29 days of the event may result in the forfeiture of deposits and prepayments to cover costs incurred by Côte.
In the case of unforeseen circumstances such as force majeure, refunds will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis after deducting incurred expenses.
5. Additional Charges
Additional charges may apply for extended event times, extra staff hours, or consumption beyond agreed terms. These charges will be invoiced after the event and are payable within seven (7) days.
6. Liability
Côte Liability
Côte is not liable for damage or loss of client property unless caused by Côte’s negligence.
Côte indemnifies clients against third-party claims arising from Côte’s services, excluding client negligence.
Client Liability
Clients are responsible for damage or loss caused to Côte property during the event.
Côte will not be liable for unattended or unclaimed items beyond seven (7) days after the event.
7. Food and Beverage Policies
Allergies and Dietary Requirements
Côte makes every effort to accommodate allergies and dietary preferences. However, clients must notify Côte of any specific dietary needs at least five (5) working days before the event.
While Côte takes precautions to prevent cross-contamination, it cannot guarantee that dishes will be completely allergen-free.
Leftovers
Leftover food will be discarded unless a signed "Leftover Food Waiver Agreement" is in place. Côte assumes no responsibility for stored food once collected by the client.
Alcohol Service
Côte complies with New Zealand’s liquor licensing laws, including refusing service to intoxicated persons or those under 18 years of age.
8. Event Timings
Clients must ensure access to the venue for set-up and pack-down within the agreed timings. Any extensions may incur additional charges.
Staff hours are scheduled based on the agreed event timeline. Adjustments on the day may result in extra costs.
9. Force Majeure
Côte is not liable for failure to fulfil contractual obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, government actions).
COVID-19 is considered a known risk and does not constitute a force majeure event.
10. Amendments
Côte reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via our website or email.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes arising from these terms will be subject to New Zealand jurisdiction.
